The small number of beds available means that the current
hospital is not able to accommodate the needs
of all the
people that require help on a daily basis. The Welfare
Council is seeking to build a bigger, better equipped
hospital to increase the capacity, and meet all the needs
of Jhelum residents.

It
is common in Jhelum
city for patients who are either critical or who require
major surgery to be referred to hospitals in Rawalpindi,
Islamabad and Lahore.Following
over whelming response from foreign and local donors
in 2003, the Welfare Council was able to acquire
land
of approximately 2100 square yards and worth Rs. 2900000/-
(USD 49000/- approx.) at Azeem Road, Jhelum near
Pakistan Tobacco Company.The first of its kind in Jhelum,
the Council intends to
build a 60 bed hospital. |

Located on a National Highway and easily accessible
this hospital will be a multistory
building with an underground car park on site.The council
has obtained permission to build a new hospital on
this
land which will accommodate 60 beds as well as : |

A)
Two well equipped operation theatres and labour rooms.
B) For the first time in Jhelum City, there wll be a dialysis
machine and all related equipment to help poor patients with kidney failure.
C) X-Ray machine of at least 500MA.
D) Ultra sonography and echo-cardiography
E) E.T.T
F) All the instruments /gadgets for a well equipped lab |

Much
emphasis will be placed on the facilities available
to Maternity and Children outdoor clinics and wards.
The hospital will also have a small mosque and church
for praying.
